Larry Harris, founder and President of Midwest Ag Systems, Inc. has owned the company since 1986 and worked in the industry for more than 40 years. He consults with other key employees on overall scheduling and coordination, however he tries to maintain his focus on selling and design work, especially for grain systems. Larry Harris says, “Probably the thing I am most proud of is our people. We just have a great team that seems to work quite well together.”

Jeff Harris started working in the business with his father when he was 14 years old. He is now the Sales and Service Manager. Jeff is responsible for the scheduling and assignment of jobs for the outside construction and service crews as well as working in construction, maintenance and repairs with a crew in the summer. In the fall, he does mostly technical service work. When he is not out on the job site, Jeff does some sales and helps with the design for grain systems. After graduating high school, Jeff studied at Vincennes University and now has over 20 years of experience with the company.
Steve Bryant, the office manager, comes to us with a degree in business administration from University of Southern Indiana and is the backbone of the in-house daily working of the business. Steve worked in the field during summer months while in college and joined MAS full time upon graduation from USI. He now has over 20 years experience with the company. His main responsibilities today include purchasing, bookeeping and control of the inventory. He also handles walk-in customers, phone questions, orders, and sales for walk-in customers.
Scott Middleton is our head System Layout Specialist. Scott started with MAS while a student in college and joined MAS upon graduation, over 20 years ago. He has an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Indiana and does all of the grain system design work and all of the CAD drawings. He also takes care of the scheduling for the fabrication shop and the shop employees. Scott also handles walk-in customers, phone questions, orders, quotes, and inside and outside sales when he can find time.
Andy Farris is our main road crew foreman.Andy has been with MAS for over 9 years. He brings prior experience in maintenance and construction of farming operations. He specializes in the installation and maintenance of bucket elevators, auger installations, dryer installations, etc. Andy is responsible for the construction crew and proper installation and repairs of large and small on-farm facilities and repairs.
Patrick Mullican has been with MAS for over 8 years now. He has grown up in the farming community and has worked around farms for most of his life. He has completed GSI dryer service school and tower dryer service school. He is currently retired from the U.S. Army National Guard in which he was enlisted for 16 years. His responsibilities include, dryer service, troubleshooting, installations, repairs and specializing in smaller repair jobs. He is also responsible for inspections that are tied to the company’s maintenance programs. During the busy periods of business, Patrick and his crew can also be assigned to bigger jobs with Andy or Jeff.
Bob Birchler is another one of our service layout specialists. Bob started for us years ago while still in high school. He then moved into our shop where he spent time fabricating and repairing equipment. He has taken ongoing education classes pertaining to GSI equipment and has worked on all products we service and sell. His responsibilities include, sales, system layouts, troubleshooting, installations, repairs and smaller repair jobs. During the busy periods of business, Bob can also be assigned to jobs with Andy or Jeff. He has been with the company for over 3 years now.
Derek Rogier & Jarrad Carpenter are our 2 fabrication shop guys. Derek & Jarrad have been with us for over 7 years now. They joined our team in the summer of 2011. Derek started in the fab shop and has been there since learning many aspects of farm repair and fabrication. Jarrad started on a service team and quickly learned/applied the standards of excellence that MAS was founded on. Their responsibilities include, new fabrication, auger builds/repairs/reflights, grain system parts builds and repairs, and general steel work that is needed. During the busy periods of business, they can also be assigned to smaller repair jobs in the field.
Shawn Chapman is our CDL licensed in house delivery/warehouse person. He is responsible for delivering all equipment and materials needed to the jobsites. He also takes care of unloading all big deliveries coming in to MAS and making sure they are sorted and stored properly until they can be delivered. Shawn also takes responsibility for making sure all our service and delivery trucks are up to date on inspections and regular maintenance items. He has been with the company for over 7 years now.
A support staff of up to 10 work on crews and in the shop. Justin Bryant greets customers and helps out with all sorts of office duties. Two support crew people for technical repairs.
